UN fact-finding mission finds reasonable grounds that the US strike on a Minab primary school was a war crime

The Independent International Fact-Finding Mission on Iran said it had reasonable grounds to believe US forces carried out the February strike on the Shajareh Tayyebeh primary school in Minab, which Iranian officials say killed more than 150 people including about 120 children, and that it was an indiscriminate attack and a war crime, Reuters reported. It reached the same finding on a strike on a sports centre in Lamerd that killed or injured 22 civilians; CENTCOM said in March that US forces did not strike Lamerd that day. The mission also found that Iranian authorities committed crimes against humanity in the crackdown on protests from late December 2025. The report goes to the UN Human Rights Council.
