Netanyahu approved direct negotiations with Lebanon as soon as possible, aimed at disarming Hezbollah, but said there was no ceasefire in Lebanon and Israel would keep striking Hezbollah, AP reported. Talks were expected the following week at the State Department, with US Ambassador Michel Issa and Israeli Ambassador Yechiel Leiter. Trump said he had asked Netanyahu to dial back strikes ahead of talks in Pakistan, and Vice President Vance said Lebanon was never part of the Iran deal. Lebanon's cabinet ordered security forces to restrict weapons in Beirut to state institutions, AFP reported via Haaretz.
