UKMTO said a cargo ship was struck by an unidentified projectile in the Strait of Hormuz, leaving it on fire and adrift, with two people hurt and all crew evacuated. Oman's Maritime Security Center said the attack on the Antigua and Barbuda-flagged Cape Dao, about 2.5 nautical miles off Oman, caused an engine-room fire and killed one crew member, and that the Omani navy evacuated 27 crew; India's foreign ministry said the dead seafarer was Indian and urged the warring parties to return to talks, AFP reported. No party claimed the attack. Seatrade Maritime placed it after strikes on the Al Maryah on 20 September and the LR Stephanie on 21 September.
