Iranian state media said the armed forces launched a 'decisive operation' against US bases and interests in the region on the evening of 1 September. Jordan's army said 13 ballistic missiles from Iran entered its airspace, 10 were intercepted and three fell in remote areas, with no casualties. Kuwait and Bahrain said their air defences engaged Iranian drones; Kuwait's fire department, via KUNA, said a drone set fire to a residential complex in the Capital Governorate with no injuries. The IRGC said it hit US bases in Erbil and Iran's army said its drones targeted Al Dhafra and Al Minhad in the UAE and Sheikh Isa Air Base in Bahrain. The IRGC claimed heavy US casualties; two US officials told Reuters initial assessments found none, Iran International reported.
