Iran's foreign ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei said Iran and Oman had agreed the geographical coordinates of a proposed shipping route and were preparing a joint statement on technical, legal, security and environmental points, provided third parties, by which he meant the US, did not obstruct it, Euronews reported. He said the deal alone could not guarantee safe navigation while the US blockade continued, and Iranian state media said reopening depended on the US ending the blockade. Trump told Fox News the US was part of the negotiations and warned the strait would open soon or Iran would be hit very hard. No Omani statement was reported.
