US and Ukrainian delegations met in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on 11 March, and a joint statement said Ukraine was ready to "enact an immediate, interim 30-day ceasefire which can be extended", subject to Russian acceptance, the Guardian reported. US national security adviser Mike Waltz said the US would immediately lift the pause on intelligence sharing and resume security assistance. Secretary of state Marco Rubio said the ball was "now in Russia's court". Ukraine had earlier proposed only an air and sea truce.
