Defence Secretary Hegseth said on 10 June that US forces would strike 'key facilities' in Iran that day, saying Iran had been given a chance to make a deal, Reuters reported. The strikes began at 22:15 GMT and CENTCOM announced an end about four hours later, saying it hit 'military surveillance capabilities, communication systems, and air defense sites across Iran', Al Jazeera reported. Al Jazeera's Tehran correspondent counted about a dozen places in three waves, including Karaj and Abyek county, and Iranian state media reported explosions on Qeshm and Kish and in Bandar Abbas and Sirik, with at least two wounded in Kargan. Trump told Fox News 49 Tomahawk missiles were fired.
