Greek manager Dynacom Tankers said its VLCC Acheloos was struck by a projectile on 20 July while using the US-facilitated southern Hormuz corridor, with all crew safe, and that its tanker Kavomaleas had been hit by two projectiles and evacuated, Reuters reported via The Jerusalem Post. At about 20:10 UTC the Kuwaiti product tanker Kaifan reported being hit about 8 nautical miles northeast of Limah, Oman, and UKMTO said early on 21 July that the crew had abandoned ship to a lifeboat, The Maritime Executive reported. The IRGC said two tankers 'exploded' and that 'massive fires' broke out on two tankers that used the southern route it calls unsafe. Reuters said it was unclear whether the IRGC statements referred to the same ships.
