Ukraine's air force said Russia launched 75 drones overnight, mainly at Kyiv, and 71 were shot down; officials called it the largest drone attack of the war so far. At least five people were injured, including an 11-year-old girl, and falling debris started a fire in a nursery. Ukraine's energy ministry said nearly 200 buildings in the capital, 77 of them residential, lost power. It was followed by a run of large drone and missile attacks through December.
