The International Atomic Energy Agency said on 18 October that work had begun to repair damaged power lines to the Russian-held Zaporizhzhia nuclear plant, after local ceasefire zones were set up to let crews work. The plant had been without off-site power since 23 September. IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi said both sides engaged constructively and that restoring off-site power was crucial for nuclear safety.
