UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Turk, visiting Lebanon on 27 July, said his office had recorded violations of international law and that some Israeli military conduct was 'possibly amounting to war crimes', calling on Israel to end persistent shelling and demolitions in the south, Al Jazeera reported. He visited a school sheltering about 1,000 displaced people and said many displaced people were on their second or third displacement, some finding their villages destroyed when they tried to return.
