A joint statement shared by Oman's foreign ministry after Foreign Minister Badr al-Busaidi met Iran's Abbas Araghchi in Tehran said they discussed a phased framework including a temporary joint navigation corridor through the Strait of Hormuz and a joint mine-clearing project, with technical talks on a permanent solution to continue, The Times of Israel reported. About an hour earlier President Trump repeated on Truth Social that all mines in the strait's international waters had been removed or detonated and warned that any boat laying new mines would be destroyed. On 26 August the IRGC said Iran and Oman had reached agreements on shares of the strait and its revenues.
