The UK Maritime Trade Operations centre said in advisory 129-26 that several merchant vessels in the northern Arabian Gulf and Gulf of Oman came under disabling fire during military activity, and that it could not confirm casualties or environmental impact. UKMTO also reported a vessel listing about 24 nautical miles off Port Rashid, UAE, possibly after an unknown projectile; Reuters identified it as the Gibraltar-flagged tanker Hercules Star, hit at anchor, and its charterer Peninsula confirmed one crew member killed and one missing. Maritime sources said a drone may have struck it. The IRGC had said it attacked eight tankers crossing what it calls a prohibited area.
