Airstrike destroys Mariupol drama theatre where hundreds of civilians were sheltering

Confirmedon two or more distinct origins, at least one tied to no party: 2 distinct origins, 2 tied to no party.

An airstrike hit the Donetsk Regional Academic Drama Theatre in Mariupol, where hundreds of civilians were sheltering and the word for children had been painted in large letters outside. Amnesty International concluded in June that the strike was almost certainly carried out by Russian aircraft and was a clear war crime, with at least a dozen people killed and many more deaths likely unreported. Other estimates were far higher; the full toll has not been established. Russia denied striking the theatre.
