President Zelensky said Ukrainian forces had taken full control of the town of Sudzha and more than 80 settlements in Kursk Oblast. Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi said troops had advanced up to 35 km and held 1,150 square km and 82 settlements, and that a military administration had been set up under General Eduard Moskaliov. Russia's defence ministry had said on 9 August that Ukrainian troops reached Sudzha's western outskirts. Sudzha hosts the gas metering station through which Russian gas still flowed to Europe via Ukraine.
