Fire at the Sudzha gas metering station; Russia and Ukraine blame each other
Reportedon one origin only: 0 distinct origins, 0 tied to no party.
A large fire broke out overnight into 21 March at the non-functioning Sudzha gas pumping and metering station in Russia's Kursk region, days after the two sides agreed to pause attacks on energy infrastructure, the Moscow Times reported. Russia's defence ministry said retreating Ukrainian forces blew it up; Ukraine's General Staff said Russian forces had shelled it and called the claim a provocation. The station had handled Russian gas transit to Europe until January.
