Iran's delegation, led by parliament speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf and Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, arrived in Islamabad late on 10 April; its 71 members were named after the schoolgirls and teachers Iran says were killed in a US strike on a school in Minab at the start of the war, Al Jazeera reported. Ghalibaf demanded a Lebanon truce and the release of blocked Iranian assets and said Iran did not trust the US. Vice President Vance, departing for Pakistan, warned Iran not to play Washington but said the US would extend an open hand. Pakistani officials set the modest goal of a deal to keep talks going.
