The IRGC said early on 29 July that it fired multiple ballistic missiles at US military installations in Jordan in response to 'aggressive actions' by the US, and CENTCOM said it intercepted what it called an attempted 'surprise attack', Al Jazeera and CBS News reported; CBS, citing CENTCOM, placed the launch on 28 July US time. Jordan's armed forces said its air defences intercepted and destroyed five missiles fired from Iran, according to Petra as carried by WAM. Neither side said which sites were targeted. It was the first Iranian strike on US forces since both sides paused on 24 July.
