Greenpeace said satellite images showed five major oil slicks in the Strait of Hormuz with a combined visible area of 240 square km earlier in the week, since dispersed by weather to about 80 square km, DW reported. One lies near Oman's Musandam National Park and another near Iran's Minab River Delta, and Greenpeace said it has tracked more than 100 spills by satellite since the war began. Greenpeace's Nina Noelle called the figure a conservative estimate. No operator or coastal state had published a pollution assessment.
