Reuters reported that more than 340,000 people remain displaced in Lebanon, after a peak of over one million, because their towns are destroyed or in areas held by Israeli forces. Lebanon's education ministry said that of nearly 80 public schools still used as shelters, nine would remain fully used as shelters when the year opens on 15 September, and about 50 schools were destroyed or severely damaged; the UN said the damage could jeopardise the school year for at least 100,000 children. Lebanon's health ministry counts more than 4,300 killed, including over 250 children, and about 12,000 wounded since 2 March.
