UKMTO Warning 160-26 said a vessel was struck at about 1000 UTC on 9 October about 13 nautical miles west of Al Jazeera in the UAE, causing a fire that was later put out; crew condition and damage were unknown, gCaptain reported. Iran's Revolutionary Guards said in a statement carried by IRNA that they struck an LPG carrier they named as NV Sunshine on a route south of the strait that they called illegal, and that Iranian forces "have taken control of the administration of the strait", AFP reported via the Times of Israel. It was not established that both reports describe the same ship. UKMTO counted 11 attacks in the week to 7 October.
