The US Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control designated seven entities and five individuals in networks centred on Dubai, with front companies in Hong Kong and Singapore and shell companies in China, that it said move money for Iran's oil exports and sanctions evasion, Treasury said. It described this as its eighth action of 2026 against Iran's shadow banking system. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said the regime was running out of ways to move money. A separate action the same day targeted crypto exchanges that Treasury said served the IRGC.
