Reportedon one origin only: 1 distinct origin, 1 tied to no party.

Drewry's World Container Index composite stood at $4,526 per 40ft container in the assessment for 20 August 2026. Drewry put Shanghai to Rotterdam at $4,401, Shanghai to Genoa at $4,955 and Shanghai to Los Angeles at $6,802 per 40ft. Drewry said the composite rose 4% on the week, its third straight rise, driven by the Transpacific. It said the US-Iran memorandum on the Strait of Hormuz had expired without a lasting resolution and that some carriers were resuming selected Red Sea and Suez transits. Against Drewry's 5 October 2023 assessment of $1,389.5, the composite was up 226% (our calculation from Drewry's figures). Asia-Europe rates were falling while transpacific rates kept rising.
