Oleshky evacuees arrive in Ukraine through Belarus as Zelensky says the humanitarian operation under the local ceasefire is complete

The last of four aircraft carrying evacuees from occupied Oleshky landed in Homiel, Belarus, on the morning of 31 October, and the evacuees crossed into Ukraine in Chernihiv Oblast, President Zelensky said, calling the humanitarian operation completed and thanking the United States and Melania Trump for mediation, Ukrainska Pravda reported. Ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets said the oldest evacuee was 94 and the youngest just over one year old, Ukrainska Pravda reported, and that the evacuees faced no filtration or phone checks, Meduza reported. Ukraine's General Staff said 167 civilians, 22 of them children, were also evacuated from the right bank of Kherson Oblast during the ceasefire, Slovo i Dilo reported. The BBC and the Kyiv Independent reported the arrivals and family reunions on 31 October; Ukraine's southern command spokesman said the local ceasefire ran to 22:59 on 1 November.
