Ukraine's air force said Russia launched 458 drones and 45 missiles overnight into 8 November, mainly at Kremenchuk, Kyiv, Dnipro, Kharkiv and Chernihiv, causing emergency power cuts in several regions. State-owned Centrenergo said what it called the largest attack hit all its generating facilities at once and destroyed all restored capacity, leaving its plants with no output. Earlier strikes on 3 and 5 October had reportedly wiped out about 60 percent of Ukraine's gas production sites. UN human rights monitors said this was part of a series of attacks on energy that left most regions with severe shortages and rolling blackouts.
