Lebanon's National News Agency said Israeli forces advanced into Zawtar al-Gharbiya shortly after midnight and built an earthen barrier near the town square, and an AFP correspondent saw the barrier at the village's eastern entrance, The New Arab reported. The mayor said about 50 families had returned since the Lebanese army deployed there on 21 July, and a Lebanese military source called it a violation of the framework agreement. The village is one of two pilot zones the Lebanese army was to take over under the June deal.
