An IAEA-brokered local ceasefire took effect near the Russian-held Zaporizhzhia nuclear plant on 5 September so Ukrainian specialists could repair the Ferosplavna-1 line once the area was cleared of mines, LB.ua reported, the seventh such truce the agency has arranged. IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi said both sides worked constructively with the agency. Energoatom said the plant's auxiliary systems were powered again from the line at 19:02 on 7 September, ending almost three weeks on diesel generators, and Grossi called it a crucial step to help prevent a nuclear accident, Ukrainska Pravda reported.
