Drones from Russian airspace crash in eastern Latvia, one at an oil storage site in Rezekne

Reportedon one origin only: 1 distinct origin, 1 tied to no party.

Drones entering from Russia came down in eastern Latvia early on 7 May, one at an oil storage facility in Rezekne without significant damage or injuries, and at least one more near Vilani, Latvian public broadcaster LSM reported. Schools closed in two municipalities and low-level flights were restricted. Prime Minister Evika Silina called it a consequence of Russia's war in Ukraine and criticised late mobile warnings; the military said the drones were tracked but could not be shot down because safety criteria were not met. Ukraine's foreign ministry later accused Moscow of deliberately redirecting Ukrainian drones into NATO territory.
