Russian strikes killed at least eight people across Ukraine, including in the Kyiv region, Kramatorsk, Sumy and Kharkiv, and a drone hit a bus in Kherson, according to Ukrainian officials cited by AP; Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha said almost 500 drones and cruise missiles were launched overnight. Zelensky said an Easter truce proposal had been sent to Moscow through US channels, and Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Moscow wanted a lasting peace, not a temporary truce. Ukrainian officials said Russia had shifted to more daytime strikes. Russia's defence ministry said it downed 192 Ukrainian drones over Russia and occupied Crimea that night.
