The IAEA confirmed at least three direct strikes on main reactor containment structures at the Russian-occupied Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant, the first such confirmed strikes since November 2022, with one casualty. It said damage at unit 6 had not compromised nuclear safety, and Director General Rafael Grossi said no one could benefit from attacks on nuclear facilities. The IAEA did not say who launched the drones, and Ukraine's military intelligence denied involvement. On 13 April the IAEA said all six reactors were in cold shutdown.
