US forces disable an oil tanker heading for Kharg Island and redirect vessels under the reimposed blockade

US Central Command said it disabled a 'non-compliant' oil tanker trying to sail to Kharg Island, using Hellfire missiles, while enforcing the naval blockade of Iranian ports reimposed on 14 July, Al Jazeera reported. CENTCOM separately said its forces redirected three commercial vessels trying to bypass the blockade in the Gulf of Oman, disabling one that did not comply and boarding another. No casualty figures were given. The blockade was reinstated after President Trump declared the interim memorandum with Iran over following attacks on tankers near the strait.
