Russia launched 43 cruise missiles overnight, of which Ukraine's commander-in-chief Valerii Zaluzhnyi said 36 were shot down. Grid operator Ukrenergo said it was the first mass strike on energy infrastructure in six months, damaging facilities in western and central Ukraine and causing partial blackouts in five oblasts. Al Jazeera reported more than 20 injured across several regions, with about 10 hurt in Cherkasy. Ukrainian officials had warned that Russia would resume a winter campaign against the grid.
