A Romanian F-16 destroyed a drone over an uninhabited area of Romania on 24 July, with Italian Eurofighters on NATO air policing also scrambled, United24 reported. Romanian aircraft downed a second, jet-powered drone on 25 July and a third over Romanian territorial waters in the Sulina-Chilia area on 26 July. President Nicusor Dan said prosecutors confirmed that the 25 July drone was a Russian-made Shahed and called the violations unacceptable. Romania said the 25 July drone came down during a large-scale Russian drone attack on Ukraine.
