South Korea's National Intelligence Service told lawmakers that at least 100 North Korean soldiers had been killed and more than 1,000 injured fighting in Kursk Oblast, attributing the toll to their use as frontline assault troops in open terrain and inexperience with drones, ruling-party lawmaker Lee Sung-kwon said. Ukraine's military intelligence had said on 16 December that at least 30 North Korean soldiers were killed or wounded in assaults near three Kursk villages on 14 and 15 December. Russia and North Korea made no statement on the casualty claims.
