Romanian F-16s disable an explosive-laden sea drone in Romania's economic zone near the Neptun Deep gas project
Reportedon one origin only: 1 distinct origin, 1 tied to no party.
Romania's coast guard alerted the military on 20 August to a sea drone about 80 miles east of Constanta, in Romania's exclusive economic zone and a few hundred metres from gas extraction work at the Neptun Deep platform, the Kyiv Independent reported. Defence Minister Radu Miruta said two F-16s disabled the drone, which carried an explosive payload, and that Ukraine confirmed through a direct channel it was not Ukrainian; he did not name Russia. President Nicusor Dan condemned what he called irresponsible incidents from the Russian Federation.
