Ukraine's Air Force said it shot down all five Iskander ballistic missiles fired at Kyiv, but debris damaged five districts. Mayor Vitali Klitschko said at least one person was killed and nine wounded, and heating was cut to 630 residential buildings and a dozen clinics and schools. Russia's defence ministry said the strike was a response to a Ukrainian attack with Western-supplied missiles on a chemical plant in Russia earlier that week.
