Six killed as missiles hit the cargo ship Tihamah in Bab el-Mandeb and a follow-up strike hits rescuers
Reportedon one origin only: 1 distinct origin, 1 tied to no party.
Yemen's transport ministry said the Houthis attacked the small Egyptian-owned cargo ship Tihamah at anchor in the Bab el-Mandeb strait, killing four crew, three Pakistanis and one Indonesian, and the coast guard said a second strike after rescuers arrived killed two members of the National Resistance Forces; ten people were injured, Reuters reported. UKMTO reported a ship hit by an unknown projectile in the strait, and the security firm Ambrey said the vessel was not Saudi-owned or operated. The Houthis did not comment on the Tihamah but later said they attacked an unnamed ship carrying Saudi military equipment. Reuters said these would be the first deaths from a Houthi strike on shipping since the war began.
