The US Treasury on 7 July revoked the June general license that had allowed Iran to produce, sell and deliver oil through 21 August, barring new transactions immediately and winding down others by 17 July, Al Jazeera reported. Iran's chief negotiator Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf called the move a major violation of the memorandum, and deputy foreign minister Kazem Gharibabadi said Iran would take 'decisive actions'. The license had been one of the main benefits Iran received under the 17 June memorandum.
