Ukraine's 68th Jaeger Brigade posted video of a flag over Blahodatne, on the edge of Donetsk and Zaporizhzhia oblasts, and deputy defence minister Hanna Maliar said Makarivka had been retaken with advances of 300 to 1,500 metres. Russia's defence ministry said Ukrainian attacks on the southern Donetsk and Zaporizhzhia axes were unsuccessful, while Russian-installed official Vladimir Rogov called the villages a grey zone. Al Jazeera said the footage was unverified and independent reporting was scant.
